The China (Chongqing) - Malaysia Economic and Trade Exchange Conference is held in Kuala Lumpur

On October 21, 2025, the China (Chongqing) - Malaysia Economic and Trade Exchange Conference was held in Kuala Lumpur.
The conference was co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chongqing Committee, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, People's Government of Jiangbei District (Chongqing), and Malaysia-China Business Council, and supported by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM).
Xu Jian, Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Chongqing Municipality; Dato' Sri Chee Hong Tat, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities of Malaysia; and Datuk Low Taek Jang, Chairman of Malaysia-China Business Council, attended the conference and delivered speeches. Other attendees included Sun Shuqiang, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Malaysia; Datuk Dr. Bernard Dompok, Director-General of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB); and Lim Ban Hong, Special Envoy of the Melaka State Government to China. Over 100 participants were present, including representatives from Malaysia's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), ACCCIM, relevant municipal departments and district/county governments of Chongqing, as well as business representatives from both China and Malaysia. The conference was presided over by Zhang Haiqing, Vice President of CCPIT Chongqing Committee.
With the theme of "Linking Land and Sea, Jointly Discussing Development", the conference promoted Chongqing's latest economic and social development, the construction progress of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (NILSTC), and cooperation opportunities in key industries through various forms such as speeches by leaders, promotions by relevant departments, and corporate case sharing. It built a practical exchange and cooperation platform for Chongqing and Malaysia in trade and investment fields including automobiles and motorcycles, laptops, palm oil, and high-quality agricultural products. Additionally, the conference promoted the International Chamber of Commerce Alliance for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and invited the Malaysian business community to participate in the alliance's first annual meeting.
During the exchange conference, the opening ceremony of the Malaysia Office of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Operation Company and a business matching and negotiation event between Chinese and Malaysian enterprises were also held.
